OTTAWA - The Ottawa Senators announced today that the team has acquired goaltender Cam Talbot from the Minnesota Wild in exchange for goaltender Filip Gustavsson.

A native of Caledonia, Ont., Talbot led the Wild and ranked 10th among NHL goaltenders in victories (32) over 49 regular-season games in 2021-22. In addition to posting a record of 32-12-4, he registered a 2.76 goals-against-average and a .911 save percentage.
"Cam is experienced and provides us with greater goaltending stability heading into next season," said Senators general manager Pierre Dorion. "He was instrumental in helping Minnesota reach the playoffs in each of his two seasons with the Wild. The tandem of he and Anton Forsberg sets us up nicely for the upcoming year."
An NHL All-Star in 2021-22, Talbot earned the 200th win of his NHL career when he made 21 saves to backstop the Wild to a 6-3 home win over Vancouver on April 21. Undrafted, he has accrued a record of 201-142-34 over nine seasons with the New York Rangers, Edmonton Oilers, Philadelphia Flyers, Calgary Flames and Minnesota while having posted a career goals-against-average of 2.63 and a .915 save percentage in 396 NHL games.
Talbot, 35, led the NHL in games played in both 2016-17 (73) and 2017-18 (67) and will enter 2022-23 in need of three shutouts to reach the 30-plateau for his NHL career.
